Bio
Susan Penner comes by her interest in civic politics honestly. Her father served five terms as a Steinbach City Councillor prior to Susan running for the same office. 

Having grown up in an environment that values public service, combined with her business and volunteer experience, Ms. Penner brings a unique perspective to Steinbach City Council.  Since completing her Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Manitoba in 1997, Ms. Penner has spent three years doing Marketing Projects for large multi-national companies and four years in the non-profit sector as a Community Relations Director.  In 2006, she became the Director of Marketing at WS Steel in Steinbach. 

In 2008, Ms. Penner initiated and organized the fundraising and implementation of the play park at Les Magnusson Park. Contributing to the community in this way ended up sparking her desire to find other ways to get involved, leading her to run for City Council. 

She and her husband Jon have three children.
